Florence Korokoro stars as Grace in Andrew Adamson’s recent film adaptation of Mr Pip, the novel by New Zealand author Lloyd Jones. Whilst on screen Florence’s character Grace remains mute throughout, the true Florence has much to say on her vegan lifestyle, which she shares with us here!
Why did you become Veg and when?
I became vegetarian first 10 years ago and turned vegan.
What’s the greatest thing about being Veg?
I feel good, body, spirit and mind.
How did you make the changes?
Stopped eating meat one day coz it was time, I had a bit of dairy and later stopped completely. Because of animal cruelty.
Was it hard to make the changes?
Are your family and friends Veg too?
What’s your favourite food?
What’s your favourite restaurant?
I liked Loving Hut but that recently closed so now go to Bluebird Café & Hectors for fine dinning.
What is a typical day’s menu for you?
Green Smoothie, roasted veg & quinoa and vegetable juice or just steamed veggies with lentils or beans.
What do you do for fun?
I love walking on the beach.
What do you do for fitness?
I walk and do yoga
What is the funniest thing someone has ever said to you about being Veg?
We’re going to eat steak, would you like me to bring you back some grass?
Are there any challenges in being Veg?
Always have to plan your meals and can’t just eat anything.
Do you have advice for others about to Go Veg?
Do it! You will love yourself for it!
