VEGETARIAN is the new black!

This lifestyle choice was adopted by some of the most influential minds of our lifetime, and is rapidly being backed by top actors and fashion designers. Vegetarianism is a way of life that is gaining momentum around the globe.

Albert Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci, Gandhi, Abraham Lincoln and Vincent Van Gogh were all part of this lifestyle choice. Joining this list is also Bill Clinton, Christian Bale, Claudia Schiffer, Samuel L Jackson, Ellen Degeneres, Stella McCartney and Anne Hathaway. A sample of our New Zealand contingency includes Anna Paquin, Gin Wigmore, Denise L'Estrange-Corbet, Samantha Hayes, Tamati Coffey, Michelle Langstone, Lisa Chappell and Emily Barclay.

"There are no challenges to being a veggie, only huge benefits to your health and wellbeing". Denise L'Estrange-Corbet, co-founder of fashion brand WORLD.

The Go Veg outdoor campaign includes life-sized door posters, featuring animals faces peeking out of cat doors. It is estimated that there are currently around 90,000 vegetarians or vegans in New Zealand and that 10% of New Zealand families will have at least one vegetarian meal a week - that's 35 million meals every year. These numbers will soon be on the rise with the launch of SAFE's new Go Veg campaign, launching nationwide this week.

A full website has been dedicated to guiding Kiwis through this journey and specially designed starter packs will be available for all those that pledge to Go Veg for 30 days. The packs are filled with delicious recipes, helpful tips and informative ways to live a healthy and compassionate lifestyle.
