For Your Health
The ideal diet
The biggest killer in New Zealand isn’t smoking, drugs or car accidents. It’s heart disease – which is directly linked to what we eat. Unhealthy diets heavy in animal products and lacking in fruit and veggies are heading many Kiwis to an early grave. By cutting out animal products, you can reap many benefits:
Studies show that people who eat a plant-based diet have lower rates of obesity. On average, people who don’t eat meat, dairy and eggs weigh up to 20% less than people who eat meat.
Be heart healthy
Studies show that heart disease can usually be prevented and even reversed with a plant-based diet. In fact, eating a plant-based diet was associated with a 42% reduced risk of developing heart failure.
Cut your cancer risk
The World Health Organisation found that about one-third of cancer cases can be prevented with a healthy plant-based diet, physical activity and a healthy waistline.
