Cruelty Free Kisses

It’s that time of year again. Valentine’s Day.

All around the country, people will be smooching. And that’s a problem. Why? Because in order to get to the smooching, people are getting dolled up. Lip gloss, cologne, mascara, and the rest – people are using cosmetics. And many cosmetics are still tested on animals.

On a day that should be about having a good time, millions of animals the world over are crammed into laboratories. They are subjected to horrific experiments so that we can look and smell nice for Valentine’s Day.

Did you know that bunnies can’t cry? Animal testers do. Chemicals poured into their eyes won’t be washed away by tears, so it’s easier to study the effects – no matter how painful it might be for the rabbits.

But the good news is, we can stop it!

Countries around the world are banning the testing of cosmetics on animals, and New Zealand can join them.

Here’s how you can help:
