Green living and organics show

The inaugural Green Living and Organics show in Auckland's Alexandra Park included a SAFE stall that promoted the benefits of being meat-free.

SAFE volunteers had a great time promoting a meat-free lifestyle.

"Vegetarianism and veganism are important lifestyle considerations and they certainly offer the ultimate ‘green' solution to environmental degradation and green house damage," says SAFE GoVeg campaign coordinator, Amanda Sorrenson.

"The UN recently reported that green house gas emissions from agriculture have reached a figure in excess of 19 per cent of all emissions. This is the single greatest contributing factor towards global warming; greater than all forms of global transport combined," says Amanda.

Amanda says many of the people visiting the SAFE stall said they were keen to take up the Go Veg lifestyle challenge or had already become a vegetarian which was great news.
