Epsom Girls Grammar School (EGGS) students were so outraged when they heard about the plight of factory farmed pigs that they decided to hold a three-day awareness campaign at their school called Uncaged.
EGGS student Gemma contacted SAFE to request information and resources to hand out to fellow students. Gemma says their newly formed group promoted the plight of pigs in New Zealand for the three days. The girls had a stall and dressed up as pigs and handed out information during their lunch breaks. "It was the first time the event was held and it was a huge success," says Gemma.
The EGGS team report the LovePigs shopping bags and peanut chews sold out proving to be a big hit raising almost $200. Gemma says they plan to do a campaign to help chickens at Easter. Keep up the good work!
