Over 280 supermarkets, The Warehouse stores and other large retailers around the country are lending a hand in this year's appeal by allowing collectors to stand outside their entrances to collect donations.
Appeals assistant Shanti Ahiuwalia says he is amazed at the level of support from the business community. "We have been contacting each retailer and as soon as we say it's to help raise funds against animal abuse their response has been awesome. These guys seem to just love animals! We are very grateful that most places have granted SAFE permission to collect over both days outside their premises. If you see a collector standing outside your local supermarket, gardening shop or The Warehouse store, tell the staff to pass on a thumbs up (or is that paws up!) to their manager."
