CINEMA-GOERS looked surprised and amused to see seven costume-clad ‘pigs' and ‘chickens' joining them at the movies recently. Active SAFE volunteer Diane Smith said her and fellow Auckland volunteers thought it was a great way to spread the message of factory farming while having a fun social night. "It didn't really matter which film we went to," she said. "However The Last Station did have some relevance. It was about Leo Tolstoy and mentioned him being a vegetarian!" "We made cinema-goers smile and received much praise and support from those walking past us with a few saying ‘Good on you!'," said Diane. Great effort, guys!
