SAFE campaign officer Sacha Dowell and local SAFE volunteers hit the streets of Invercargill recently dressed as pigs to ask local residents to sign postcards to be sent to local MP Eric Roy. Over 60 postcards were signed in a few hours and posted off to Mr Roy asking him to help New Zealand's factory farmed pigs. Sacha says "It was a successful awareness-raising event, with many local people stopping to find out about SAFE's LovePigs campaign and to make a donation." Sacha also held a workshop for local SAFE volunteers on animal rights philosophy and the LovePigs campaign.
