No sooner had Marina Strbac joined SAFE’s Facebook page was she encouraging her friends to do the same. “I just joined the group on Facebook and invited all my friends to join, so fingers crossed that they do,” says Marina. SAFE’s page doubled within a week! Marina has some advice for helping the Facebook network grow. “Get your supporters to add SAFE to their Facebook. Make a Facebook page if they don't already have one, then take pics at all SAFE events, and load some which are super good to Facebook, tagging people who are in them.” Marina says that “discussions are started over photos on Facebook so you don't need much for a 'buzz' about SAFE to kick in.” So if you’ve been involved with any SAFE activities and have some great photos to share you can put them up yourself and tag your friends in them. You can also link the group to your own page. It may seem like virtual reality but the more people in the SAFE network the greater the ongoing benefits for New Zealand animals.
