ELECTROCUTED CALF NEEDS HOME |
He's an adorable, big eyed, stunted young Angus steer that desperately needs a loving life-long home within the Auckland region.
According to a local SAFE supporter who has since come to the animals aid, a few months ago, the little calf was found entangled with an electric fence around his leg that had sliced through to the bone. Amy says the farmer discovered the distressed calf one morning and said the young animal probably had sustained painful electric shocks for hours. She said the farmer was amazed the calf had survived and called the vet who treated the calf. However, months on, it appears the farmer has since neglected the injured animal. This photo, taken recently, shows the original bandage still remains on its wounded leg. Amy says the farmer has since agreed the calf deserves a better life.
