AUCKLAND AIMS HIGH

The SAFE team in Auckland is hoping for another record-breaking street appeal, yet still a little nervous that enough people will show on the day!

Auckland campaign officer Eliot Pryor says preparations are coming along nicely but much work is still to be done.

“We’ve still got lots to do! It’s always at this stage before the big day that we’re wondering who is coming to help collect. With more collectors on the streets there is greater chance that the public will meet a collector on the day and donate.”

Last year over 200 people helped collect, and this year the target is for over 250. Eliot says behind the scenes over 30 volunteers are helping to put the Auckland appeal together.

“They are taking on tasks in their own time such as phoning past collectors, or putting up posters in their local shops. There is still time to put up a poster or to invite a friend to help. If everyone who is now signed up brought a friend on the day our target would be reached.”

Venues around the Auckland area include from Albany to Manukau, Henderson to Pakuranga, and everywhere in between!
