in the media
SAFE was back in the media this week, kicking off with an exclusive current affairs item on Campbell Live. New Zealand Pork Industry Board CEO Sam McIvor did his best to defend the industry and maintain his composure, but those horrific images of abused pigs from around New Zealand did little to convince viewers that the industry wasn’t in serious trouble. SAFE TV adverts also began this week, and this Saturday, SAFE will host a high-profile event at the Auckland Museum. If you are in Auckland, you should come along!
SAFE AGM SAFE will hold its 2009 Annual General Meeting in Auckland, at 2pm on Sunday 15 November.
STUFFED WITH (OR WITHOUT) YOU Thankfully everyone can stuff envelopes, which is good news since SAFE needs everyone to help stuff over 13,000 envelopes this weekend! This Saturday come socialise with like-minded people, have some fun and enjoy a free lunch. Starts 10am at 145 Armagh Street, Christchurch.
NEW BLOG A new blog was launched this week by the Society of Legal Vegans and Vegetarians (SOLVE), a University of Auckland based group. The blog, entitled The Solution, will focus on vegetarianism, animals and the law.

SAFE ON TV! SAFE Invercargill coordinator, George Kersten, was on local television station Cue TV last month. George talked about his role in SAFE, our campaigns, what the local SAFE group gets up to and how people can get involved. Great stuff, George!
