| SAFE’s street appeal was ushered in with a bang last week as international rock legend, Chrissie Hynde, twice interrupted her concert to announce to Vector Arena’s audience in Auckland why they should be supporting SAFE. ”It was a passionate plea from one of SAFE’s best known supporters and an inspiring way to kick off the appeal,” says executive director Anthony Terry. ”The appeal is a mammoth undertaking but at this time of year, it is a fabulous way to be reminded we have an awesome team of supporters willing to come to our aid and lend a hand raising funds. The spirit of Christmas is well and truly at work.” From all of us at SAFE, we wish you all a very merry and compassionate Christmas. See you in the New Year! |

PRAYING MANTIS If anything’s likely to bring bug-a-phobes out in a cold sweat it’s waking up to the sight of a praying mantis perched on the bedroom ceiling. These insects, surely the inspiration for many an alien film may not be cute and cuddly but they certainly are interesting! |
